Fine Kyoto-style tempura in an elegant atmosphere
Yoshikawa is an exclusive Japanese-style inn. The building is the Sukiya-style and hosts a vast beautiful Japanese garden (over 330 square meters). When they opened as an inn in 1950, the owner decided to have tempura as their main attraction since he already assumed Kyoto would welcome more foreign guests in the future, and he was quite right. Their tempura mainly features perfectly deep-fried and crispy vegetables. While they have become famous as a tempura restaurant, they also provide the best hospitality and service for overnight guests with comfortable and modern facilities. Having hot and crispy tempura and authentic kaiseki course overlooking their beautiful Japanese garden is such a treasure. Take the counter seats if you would like to watch how your tempura is cooked. They also serve a western-style breakfast.
