    Kyoto Nama Chocolat

One-of-a-kind fresh chocolate created by the French chef

The owner of this excellent café, Hirofumi Nakanishi, used to work as a French chef in the Japan Consulate in New York.  Meanwhile, he started to be devoted to creating totally original fresh chocolate and opened a café in Kyoto in a century old Japanese house in the Okazaki area.  “My chocolate couldn’t be complete if I hadn’t discovered this liquor.”  Nakanishi explains that the secret of his fine chocolates is a rare liquor produced by nuns in an Austrian monastery.  Nakanishi’s chocolates look simple, yet their softness and deep, complex sweetness is guaranteed to impress.  Today, their chocolate has become famous throughout Japan.  “Sweet” is melting sweet in your mouth, “Bitter” uses organic cacao from the Dominican Republic, and “Matcha” mixes in plenty of fine matcha green tea powder from Uji.  An assortment of all three kinds is most recommended.
