Grandma’s tarte tatin loved for many years
Tarte tatins at La Voiture are praised and favored as “grandma’s taste.” The owner, Yuri Matsunaga, created the recipes remembering the taste of those she had experienced in France. Since then, her recipe has remained unchanged for over 30 years. Her tarte tatins have been presented with awards in France many times. Today, Yuri’s granddaughter, Maya, is continuing to prepare her recipes. They cook apples with sugar and butter for over 4 hours until they become lucent and sweet. Topped on the tarte, the syrup from the apples permeates slowly through to the very bottom. The rich sweetness along with natural sourness of apple spreads in your month – an unforgettable taste from Grandma.
