Delicate, new style Chinese cuisine enjoyed with good wine
Basara, located on Shinmonzen Street where Japanese antique shops line both sides, offers their original Chinese dishes. Since it opened in September 2010, their fans have steadily increased and today Basara is one of the restaurants in Kyoto where it is very hard to make a reservation. Their chef who trained himself in a restaurant in Tokyo fully shows his cooking skills under his concept of “Dishes enjoyed with wines.” Using all kinds of Chinese cooking techniques, he artistically produces original dishes, sometimes using French and Italian ingredients. Their lunch set includes five dishes, from appetizer to dessert. The volume is adequate for female customers. The Japanese-style room faces a garden view that enhances the luxurious feeling while dining.
