Comfortable book café set in urban Kyoto
Classical paperbacks, novels, cartoons, essays, art books and even thick dictionaries – Café kocsi is jam packed with books and you will feel as if you are visiting the room of a true book lover. The owner, Mr. Naoto Tsubokura, is also a professional baker. The aroma of freshly baked bread and pastries fills the café and gentle sunlight enters through the large window… It is not rare for regular customers to remain for a number of hours just to enjoy being here. One of their popular menu items is croque monsieur with homemade white sauce and melted cheese (served all day). Coffee and tea can be enjoyed for an additional 100-yen and beer and wine for an additional 300 yen.
