Welcomed by a Buddhist monk to Chion-in’s temple accommodation
Chion-in Temple is the headquarters of all temples belonging to the Jodo Sect of Buddhism. They celebrated the 800th death anniversary of the founder, Honen, in 2011 and the accommodation was fully renovated as one of the celebration projects. Actually, though known as temple accommodation, the building now looks like a contemporary hotel. The entrance space is decorated with modern art pieces and quality feather beds are a feature in all the rooms. With their comfortable guest rooms and large shared bath facility, you will feel as if you were staying in a luxurious hotel. Guests can join the morning service if requested. The Zen vegetarian dishes for breakfast will surely enliven your body and mind.
