Nicotto & mam is located on the quiet Kurumayacho Street, just one street east of the main Karasuma Street near the imperial palace grounds. Settled in a traditional machiya townhouse building, Nicotto & mam offers homemade doughnuts. While many new doughnut shops have opened in the city in recent years, nicotto & mam has become popular amongst a growing number of fans. The key is that their doughnuts do not use eggs, and the dough of whole wheat is fermented with natural yeast. Their doughnuts are less sweet than usual and very fluffy and light which has become a firm favorite with people of all ages.
