    Artistic French cuisine overlooking nice view of Maizuru Bay

    The owner and chef of Honobonoya, Kazuo Itoi, trained to be a French chef in France and worked for the Shima Kanko Hotel as a vice-head chef.  After, he opened his own French restaurant, named Mireille.  Even though they moved from the original location and changed their name, their regular fans continued to come to Honobonoya to enjoy Itoi’s dishes.  Lunch course ranges from 1,800 yen to 6,000 yen and dinner is from 4,000 yen to 10,000 yen.  The prices are quite reasonable because the restaurant is run by a public organization.  Special lobster bisque (thick soup) is included in some of the courses.
