Exclusive English tea salon produced by an old tenugui towel company
Eirakuya Hosotsujiihee Shoten is Kyoto’s very famous and popular tenugui (traditional cotton towel) and furoshiki (wrapping cloth) shop. They opened an excellent English tea café in 2013 in the middle of Gion, where the elegant world of geiko and maiko still remain. The café space is located in the back of their shop. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing time overlooking a fine Japanese garden while savoring a cup of flavored tea from MLESNA. They use soft water - best for fully enjoying the tea’s flavor with less astringency and bitterness. Don’t forget to order their special pancake and sweets that go perfectly with the aromatic tea.
