Simple and less is better – Sweets presenting the original taste of the ingredients
“Western sweets with the heart of Japanese spirit.” This is Ichizenya’s motto and they try to reflect the delicate sensitivity of Kyoto’s food culture in their Western style sweets. Their recipes are thoroughly concerned with not “adding” lots of ingredients but “minimizing;” in other words, to achieve the maximum deliciousness with minimum ingredients. Their Matcha Green Tea Roll Cake uses powdered green tea leaves for both the dough and cream filling and its aromatic green tea flavor will surely impress you. There is a pretty design of a plum flower on the cake’s top and the cake’s package is wrapped with an elegant cloth tied with a decorative braid – such artistic sensitivity of Japan enhances the value of Ichizenya’s cakes.
