Experience modern and casual style “Tea Ceremony”
IYEMON SALON KYOTO was established in 2008 taking over the traditions and aspirations of the Japanese tea ceremony. Situated on the ground floor of the same building as the longstanding Kyo-yuzen kimono shop, “Chiso”, the cafe is designed with the concept of machiya; a traditional Kyoto-style townhouse along with Scandinavian furniture to create a relaxing atmosphere. The three hundred year old Japanese garden at the rear adds a green feeling to the space. There is a bar style table where you can enjoy the tea, prepared carefully by a Japanese tea instructor. They also have a library with books on Japanese culture and tea. Try their original sweets such as Shokado Oyatsu Set which has 9 kinds of both Japanese and western sweets, or seasonal parfait as well as Japanese style food dishes. You are sure to discover a new way of enjoying Japanese tea at this inviting salon.
