Hideout for stylish patrons in Gion
There is an old machiya townhouse on a traditional stone-paved street in Gion. Yata’s first floor is a Japanese restaurant with an open kitchen and a second floor that is like a secret bar. Yata’s successive bartenders have all been acclaimed as experts in their profession, and today, Ms. Ito, serves drinks as the main bartender. Ito has worked in various bars in Gion for over sixteen years. Continuing Yata’s tradition, she also offers her own creations of cocktails with friendly hospitality. Cocktail, whisky, wine, Japanese sake, shochu (distilled Japanese sake) and many other alcoholic drinks are available. Ito also offers low-alcohol cocktails, too. Some of the menu items served in the restaurant can be ordered for enjoying in the bar.
