Hamburger steak; special treat for all time
This western style restaurant was established in 1915, and celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2014. Their original location was near Yasaka Jinja Shrine so they used to deliver their dishes to the geiko and maiko (apprentice geiko) of the area. The first owner of the restaurant made “Yoshoku Bento (a lunch box with assorted western dishes)” which is said to be the first one ever of its kind in Japan and remains one of the popular items of Kaiyotei. The course style menus are also available with a main dish of your choice. One of the main dishes is the hamburger steak with the demi-glace sauce using an original recipe of the restaurant. Indulge yourself with such dishes as deep fried prawns or a beef fillet steak. At night, one can enjoy French style small dishes complemented by a fine selection of wine.
