Dignity of long-established shop taken over for four generations
Kikuyoshi Roho stands near the Keihan Sanjo Station and still retains its classical Japanese appearance. Since their business started in 1830, they have served many ryokan (Japanese inns) and restaurants their special fish dishes. Their signature item, Oniyaki Kamaboko (fish cake) was contrived by the 3rd generation owner and remains popular to this day. Each piece has fine patterns made by a knife which requires patience and technique, and is grilled over a charcoal fire. How they make this fish cake and its taste remains unchanged and its appearance represents the pride and confidence of this long-established shop.
