Wonderful stay by the World Heritage Site

The location of Kyoto International Hotel is where Emperor Horikawa once had his residence in the Heian period (794-1185).  The dignified Nijo Castle, one of Kyoto’s World Heritage Sites, stands just across from the hotel.  Rooms on the west side possess a grand view of the castle in every season.  The restaurant is surrounded by a fine Japanese garden with swans elegantly swimming in the pond.  A stone monument on which one of the poems by the famous Buddhist priests, Dogen, (1200-1253) is inscribed, tells of the history of Kyoto.
