    Kyoryori Takii

Lunch and dinner course with a bowl of rice topped with savory Chirimen Sansho

This popular restaurant is located in Pontocho Street.  The owner opened another branch “Ifumi”, on the east side of the same area some years ago.  If you wish, you can enjoy the dinner menu at lunchtime if you reserve beforehand with a party of four or more.  Therefore, if you would like to enjoy the full course of Kyoto cuisine for lunch, this is surely the place to do so.  You can savor the grilled horse-head fish or rockfish in their Chef’s Recommended Course for 5,400 yen.  The owner says, “Customers from eastern Japan and Kyusyu especially enjoy these dishes”.  A la Carte menus are available such as fresh yuba (tofu skin), homemade sesame tofu, pike eel hot pot and a bowl of rice topped with chirimen sansho (baby sardines cooked with Japanese peppercorns and soy sauce).  You can also enjoy the river terrace table during the summer at their branch.
