Aromatic English tea in a classical Japanese hideout
Uharu is a café specializing in English tea located at the very rear of narrow lane in the Nishijin area. The machiya townhouse building is almost 100 years old and the interior is tastefully furnished with small wooden tables. Uharu offers a wide variety of English teas and flavored teas from around the world, for example, naturally grown tea leaves from Bangladesh. Sweets and meals served in the café are all homemade using natural ingredients such as organic vegetables, free-range eggs and sugar cane. Uharu offers a peaceful afternoon tea moment in a traditional Japanese atmosphere.
