Culmination of Japanese cuisine – Formal imperial style cuisine passed down over generations

Mankamerou’s predecessor was a sake brewery named Yorozuya that opened in 1722.  The present owner and chef is not only a Japanese cuisine chef but also the 29th generation successor of the Ikama School of ceremonial cooking knife technique.  Dressed in formal imperial style costume with a long hat, Japanese male kilt and kimono, he performs the ceremonial knife ritual perfectly.  Mankamerou’s dishes show a deep respect for tradition yet at the same time are arranged with a modern ambience.  Cherishing the seasons and blessings from nature, every dish is prepared carefully and served in a lovely Japanese room with a fine garden view.  For lunchtime, the reasonably priced Takekago Bento set is also popular.
