    Mikami Shoten

Superior quality “Bodara” with deep taste

Mikami Shoten is located in the Nishiki Food Market.  They offer selections of quality salted and dried fish and other seafood such as Bodara (dried whole cod), Nishin (herring), Beni Shake (sockeye salmon), Chilimen Jako (dried baby sardines), Kazunoko (salted herring eggs) and Sukimitara (salted and dried cod fillet).  At the end of the year, the shop is filled with people trying to buy their Bodara and Kazunoko for making Osechi (traditional Japanese dishes specifically for the New Year).  One of their popular items is the high quality Bodara, which is fished by rod in the Wakkanai area of Hokkaido, and sun dried.  There are a lot of local fans that say “I only buy Bodara from Mikami Shoten because they have the best.”
