    Dashimaki Japanese-style egg roll – this is absolutely Miki Keiran’s signature item that is loved by a number of people in Kyoto.  Despite its appearance, Dashimaki is not a simple dish at all.  Containing adequate quantities of fine broth extracted from sea kelp from Rishiri (Hokkaido) and dried bonito flakes, it is super fluffy and savory.  Besides typical egg rolls, there are other popular egg items such as Fukusa-yaki, which is full of vegetables and Tamachan, a seasoning for plain rice made with dried egg.  In 2009, Miki Keiran released a new item that surprised their regular fans.  It was Egg Yolk Anpan bread roll – a small size of bread roll with sweet white bean paste and a cooked egg yolk inside.  The specially designed triangle box also looks cute.  Today, Egg Yolk Anpan has become an unbeatably popular item at Miki Keiran.  The small size is available as a set of 5 pieces while the medium size can be purchased from one piece.  Surely the perfect souvenir from Kyoto for your friends and family!
