Small and authentic Toscana restaurant in Kyoto
The owner and chef of this restaurant, Takashi Tamura, trained himself for ten years as a chef in a restaurant and lodging, “IL CANTO DEL MAGGIO” in Toscana, Italy. Unlike most modern restaurants in large cities, this establishment cherished the “taste of the Italian grandma.” After his time cooking with this special concept as the specialty, Tamura opened his restaurant in Kyoto in 2011. Although he selected the Karasuma area where a number of other fine restaurants are located, his restaurant has already gained recognition and become popular with a growing number of regular customers just like the original IL CANTO DEL MAGGIO in Italy always was. His dishes are traditional Toscana style: bistecca (steak) using Japanese beef without bones from Tottori Prefecture, simmered beef, handmade pasta and more. Of course, a variety of wine options are available that complete the taste of Toscana.
