Café for adults for a good old cup of coffee
Otafuku Coffee opened in Shijo Teramachi, in the heart of Kyoto in 2004. The owner, Mr. Noda, dresses old-fashion style – shirt, tie and vest, and long sideburns are his trademark. In the beginning, he opened a cafe in the handicrafts market in Hyakumanben, and later owned his own café. He makes coffee carefully in a particular position, lowered from his waist. He enjoys conversation with his customers and Mr. Noda’s fans who visit here frequently say that intimate feeling attract them to come here repeatedly. “I think people need a place for making connections. I hope this café plays a role in providing this space and will be loved for a long time,” Mr. Noda says. Indeed, many customers visit this café to enjoy a cup of coffee and join in a conversation.
