Beloved Kyoto-style Kaiseki restaurant
Pontocho Fujita offers authentic Kyo-ryori or Kyoto cuisine right in front of the Pontocho Kaburenjo Theatre. Both counter style and Japanese style tatami mat seating are available. A wide range of customers, including local business people and tourists, come to the restaurant especially during the annual Kamogawa Odori geiko and maiko dance performance season in May. For lunchtime, three course menus are available staring from 3,500 yen. Every morning, fresh seasonal seafood and vegetables are purchased in the market and they also use Kyoto Beef and cheeses in their dishes. The courses consist of standard and creative dishes that accentuate their skills. Delicious homemade desserts such as yoghurt moose with mascarpone cheese or almond pudding are popular among their female customers.
