Enriching dishes full of seasonal delights

The long standing ryori ryokan, a Japanese style inn with attached restaurant, is located on Sumizome Street in Fusimi.  All the Sukiya (teahouse) style Japanese rooms look over their carefully maintained Japanese garden.  The young third-generation owner, Tetsuo Takenaka, cooks with the fresh Kyoto vegetables he harvests as well as seasonal fish purchased from the market everyday in the early morning.  Another important ingredient is the pure well water known as Seiwa’s Well.  The delicious broth made using this water highlights the taste and flavor of the carefully selected ingredients.  Being slightly away from Kyoto city central in an old castle town, this is the place for those who wish to spend quality time savoring the delightful dishes full of seasonal delicacies.
