Bio-tei is a natural style restaurant which uses organically produced ingredients or those produced with a low amount of chemicals. The vegetables are bought from “Anzen Nosan Kyokyu Center” in Uji City, which only provides food with a high level of transparency concerning who grows and makes each product. Due to word of mouth, a wide range of people started to visit their restaurant. Health conscious people, mothers with their children, vegetarians and foreign tourists are some examples of their customers. “Ohiru no Teishoku” (lunch combination meal) is produced by staff, who creates the menu everyday with the thought of how to enjoy tofu in different ways. To give you an example of their lunch menu, Japanese style croquettes made with tofu, potato and dried squid and hijiki (a kind of sea weed) salad with homemade mayonnaise are both healthy and delicious.
