Kyoto’s long-term favorite – Beef sandwich
Shizuya was founded in 1948 as a bakery in Kyoto and has been one of Kyoto’s favorites for over 60 years. Today, they have over 20 branch shops all over Kyoto prefecture serving a variety of bread and pastries using fresh vegetables and respecting seasonal taste. For example, they make bread with a cherry blossom flavor for spring while adding some spicy bread for summer to stimulate your appetite. One of their long-term popular items is the Beef Sandwich. The outside is crispy with deep-fried breadcrumbs and inside is juicy beef cutlet. Two pieces of thick beef cutlets are sandwiched between the bread. A special homemade sauce and mustard match perfectly to make the sandwich become a feast.
