    Sushi-dokoro Fukagawa

Kyoto-style sushi with longtooth grouper and tilefish

Fukagawa was formerly a small sushi restaurant but in the spring of 2013, the owner decided to relocate and opened his new restaurant in a beautiful machiya townhouse.  The new restaurant has counter seats and private rooms where they can arrange geiko and maiko entertainment over dinner.  In addition to typical sushi varieties, Fukagawa offers interesting items such as grilled fish milt, baby salmon, longtooth grouper, tilefish and capelin.  If you have a budget, tell the chef it and he will prepare the perfect set to match it.  Their Chirashi-zushi (unformed sushi topped with a variety of toppings) and mackerel sushi for takeaway are also very popular amongst tourists while they are exploring the Gion area.  Advance reservation is necessary if one wishes to arrange for geiko and maiko.
