Metal items with excellent usability will improve your culinary skill
This shop and workshop belongs to Tankin metal craft master, Shigeru Terachi. Tankin is a technique to make different products by banging a metal piece into different shapes using a metal hammer. Inside the shop, there are wide variety of pots, dishware and cutleries. Many well known cooking professional chefs use their cooking utensils, which has been inscribed with the brand name, Mosaku. Above all, the pot with a single pour spout is one of the popular items, for which the second owner of the shop has found the best angle of the spout to avoid dripping. Aluminum is the common material for cooking pots but the owner says, “Copper has a more beautiful color and better heat efficiency. In order to avoid changes in color, the inner part of the pot is made with tin.” Here you will find a craft persons’ work that is both beautiful and useful.
