Incense of Kyoto adding elegance to your room
Toyoda Aisando Roho is an old shop specializing in Buddhist textbooks and Japanese incense. They have served Chion-in Temple, the head temple of the Jodo sect of Buddhism. Following their original incense-blending recipe that was handed down for generations, they also invent new scents to match the modern life style. They offer a wide range of incense forms from simple stick incense for Buddhist altars to sachet containing a seasonal scent. Some of the incenses exhibit the auspicious form of cranes and gourds (right photo: 210 yen each) with gold foil so that they are often chosen as a gift. “Asuka” is another popular item of sandalwood scent (left photo: 2,100 yen) for a gift at a special celebration. Incense for rooms and small sachet using traditional Japanese fabric are also worth trying.
