    The Westin Mikyako Hotel Kyoto is one of the exclusive hotels in the city that welcome a number of international VIPs.  Originally, the property where the hotel stands started as a resort house, Yoshimizu-en, in 1890.  In addition to the main hotel building, there is an annex building that was designed by a renowned Japanese architect, Togo Murano, who received the Order of Culture.  The annex building hosts 20 Japanese rooms, each of which has a different room arrangement.  Try their incredibly comfortable beds called “Heavenly Futon.”
