    CZAR

Savor a taste of spring with cherry blossoms for day and night

Standing in an ordinary residential area in Taishogun in northern part of the city, CZAR’s modern façade always catches people’s attention.  The interior is also stylish with the appearance of a cool bar.  The handwritten menu of the day on the blackboard reminds visitors that this is a restaurant.  The owner and chef, Kazuya Ikeyama, was born into a family that ran a traditional Japanese inn and restaurant.  Based on his 30-year career as a Japanese chef, Ikeyama adds Chinese, Italian, French and other new essences to his creative dishes.  His day starts by going to the local market to look for good and fresh seafood for the day and just-harvested vegetables.  As CZAR is located near popular cherry blossom sites like Ninna-ji Temple and Haradani-en Garden, many people stop by CZAR before or after they enjoy viewing the beautiful cherry blossoms.
