Modern café serving Japanese sweets in contemporary wares
ZEN CAFÉ was opened by one of Kyoto’s established sweet shops, Kagizen Yoshifusa. The interior is modern yet beautifully arranged with antique furniture. They serve Japanese sweets in modern wares created by young contemporary artists including Yui Tsujimura and Kan Kishino. A single customer can enjoy a set of tea and Kagizen’s special kuzu-mochi (a jelly-like sweet dumpling in syrup) while flipping through the pages of design and photo books while a group can enjoy appreciating and discussing the interior design of the café over beautiful seasonal sweets… It’s up to you how you like to enjoy this stylish café.
